The Philadelphia Water Dept. project #20416 is anticipated to begin construction within the next few weeks in and around the Rittenhouse neighborhood, along with the Financial District of Center City

• Construction will take place to replace water mains at several different locations over the 8-9 months.
• During working hours, it may be necessary to close the street: our construction team will hand deliver letters to the blocks impacted the week prior to construction starting
• For on site help, there will be an inspector who can answer questions and concerns. I will share his contact info once the inspector is assigned.

Residents have received a letter informing them of this project.

There are several protests and events scheduled for this weekend supporting a wide range of issues as well as the end of Summer.  

A rally is scheduled for 5:00 PM, “Justice for Jacob Blake! and All Victims of Police Terror” at City Hall. We don’t have a specific number of participants or information as to whether the group plans to march. It is likely based on previous demonstrations that the group may march throughout Center City.

Gov. Tom Wolf has asked the state legislature to temporarily extend Pennsylvania's moratorium on evictions and foreclosures enacted due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Those protections are set to expire Monday.

The City of Philadelphia today announced PHLConnectED, a collaboration to connect up to 35,000 low-income K-12 student households with internet service and devices. The program, which will also provide digital skills training and tech support for families, is an urgent response to schools moving to virtual learning in the upcoming academic year as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic.

To help with the costs due to the pandemic, Gov. Wolf announced today that he wants lawmakers to legalized marijuana.  The tax revenue will businesses stay afloat.

Governor Tom Wolf and Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine today released a weekly status update detailing the state’s mitigation efforts based on the COVID-19 Early Warning Monitoring System Dashboard. Updates will be released each Monday beginning today.
