The temps are rising — and your happy hour should be too. It is rooftop bar season, after all.

There’s nothing quite like taking in the stunning views atop the Philadelphia region’s best drinking and dining establishments with a bite to eat and a drink in hand.

Philadelphia’s skyward hospitality reaches new heights with the bird’s-eye views at places like the new Victory Brewing Company taproom on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Bok Bar in South Philadelphia and El Techo in Rittenhouse Square.

And in the surrounding Greater Philadelphia region, stunning views can be easily paired with craft beers (East Branch Brewing Co.), margaritas (Mas Mexicali Cantina), lawn games (Off the Rail) and more.

Below are some great spots to catch a few rays over bites and brews during what is arguably the best time for alfresco eating and drinking. Just don’t forget your sunglasses and sunscreen.

May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! Established by the U.S. Congress in the 1990s, Asian Pacific American Heritage Month highlights the stories of people in the United States who are of Asian or Pacific Islander descent. This includes people from the Asian continent and islands across the South Pacific including Hawaii, American Samoa, Federated Islands of Micronesia, Guam, and more.

This May, the City of Philadelphia and many community organizations are hosting celebrations as part of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month! See some of these events listed below.

The mask mandate ended with a unanimous vote from the Philadelphia Board of Health Thursday, and city health commissioner Cheryl Bettigole said the entire system being used to evaluate COVID-19 risk in the city was being scrapped.

”It is a rescission of the existing metrics that would require masking at a certain level,” said Bettigole.

A news release from the Philadelphia Department of Public Health Friday morning confirmed the end of the tiered risk evaluation system.

With the end of the indoor mask requirement, which required people to wear masks within indoor public settings like businesses, offices, and gyms, the city shifted to a “strong recommendation” that people cover their faces.

Philadelphia loves a champion! In 2021, five Philadelphia youth teams brought home national titles in football and cheer. 

The championship teams will celebrate with their family, friends, and local communities this Saturday, April 9, at a Celebration of Champions hosted in their honor.
