    The state of Pennsylvania has launched its coronavirus exposure notification app, dubbed COVID Alert PA and based on Apple and Google technology.  You can access the app in the Google Play or Apple Stores.

    Not unlike their season, the Sixers came up empty in their bid for a new 18,500-seat arena at Penn's Landing, as the Delaware River Waterfront Corp. selected the New York-based Durst Organization’s proposal for a $2.2 billion, 3.5-million-square-foot mixed-use venue. The Durst project plans 1,834 residential units, a 225-key hotel and 94,000 square feet of retail space, and requires no public subsidy.

    Philadelphia’s top elections official is warning of electoral chaos in the presidential battleground state if lawmakers there do not remove a provision in Pennsylvania law that, under a days-old court decision, requires counties to throw out mail-in ballots returned without secrecy envelopes.

    Beginning on Tuesday September 29, the Philadelphia City Institute Library on Rittenhouse Square will allow the public to use computers during limited hours with advance appointments only.

    Appointments can be made at the front door or by calling 215-685-6621.

    Hours for computer access each week will be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. Sessions will be limited to 30 minutes, and only three appointments will be made at a time.

    The extension it granted will allow three more days to receive ballots that were mailed before polls closed. Democrats and their allies cited the prospect of postal service delays in invalidating huge numbers of ballots.
