    There will be a food distribution this Saturday, October 17 at 10 am in the parking lot of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia located at 222 North 17th Street in center city.  The food is available to any individual or family.

    Meals for children will also be available at no cost.

    School District of Philadelphia will begin a phased return to in-person learning at the end of November. Students in kindergarten through second grade will be the first to return to the classroom.

    People with disabilities are at a higher risk for developing serious complications from COVID-19 because of underlying conditions.

    For that reason, it is critical that members of the disability community and their caregivers take all necessary precautions to protect themselves. 

    The Philadelphia Department of Public Health regularly updates its guidance on how to prevent transmission of COVID-19 on the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions page.

    Inquirer - A 19-year-old man was shot in his left hand at about 6 a.m. Sunday on the 2300 block of Lombard Street in Center City. He was taken by medics to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and was listed in stable condition.

    With acres of land and fresh outdoor air, pumpkin picking is still a go despite the pandemic. There’s lots of options in the townships surrounding Philadelphia, and many farm fall festivals also feature markets, apple orchards, mazes and hayrides.

    Tonight at 7:30pm, fire apparatus sirens will sound throughout the city to indicate the start of the citywide fire drill.  Philadelphians are urged to participate by putting their home escape plans to the test.  Homes should have smoke alarms installed on every level, including the basement.  If you need a smoke alarm, call 311 and the fire department will come install one for free.
