    This week, the city announced some locations will re-open for limited in-building services beginning January 19. Libraries are a critical community resource and a key point of digital access for many residents. We're thrilled to see them re-open.

    Rothman Ice Rink at Dilworth Park near City Hall offers FREE admission and skate rental to adults every Tuesday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. now through February 28.

    College Student Skating Discount Presented by Temple University every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. College students with a valid student ID pay $2 admission to skate and can purchase $2 hot chocolates. Skate rental not included.

    The Department of Public Health has published the City’s priority populations for vaccine distribution, covering Phases 1a, 1b, 1c, and 2.

    This list was developed using guidance from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices and the City’s Vaccine Advisory Committee, which is comprised of 40 local academic and  health care experts, and community leaders.
    The goal of the Vaccine Advisory Committee is to ensure that the vaccine is distributed in Philadelphia in the most equitable fashion with special attention to differing risks of different populations.

    Doug Pederson was fired as the Eagles' head coach Monday, just three years after coaching the franchise to its only Super Bowl championship.

    The NFL Network was first to report the news after Pederson met with Eagles president and CEO Jeffrey Lurie on Monday in Florida.

    "No Racist, Fascist Coup, Yes Covid Relief, Reparations, Workers Power" demonstration is planned for January 9, 12 pm, at 1400 JFK Blvd.  

    Police Civil Affairs and bike patrol units will be assigned to this event.
