    Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson has tested positive for the coronavirus, the team confirmed on Sunday night.

    Pederson is asymptomatic and is feeling fine. 

    Pederson, who is believed to have contracted COVID-19 outside of the team's training facility, needs to quarantine and have multiple negative tests before returning to work.

    With COVID-19 cases increasing in Pennsylvania, especially in and around Philadelphia, city and state health officials are highlighting the mandate to wear face masks in public. There was even an apology to restaurants from the Philadelphia health commissioner. 

    Philadelphia’s restaurants were caught off guard on Tuesday when the health commissioner announced that indoor dining restrictions would continue. He said Thursday that won’t happen again and also revealed the city is now keeping count on how many people are wearing masks.

    Philly has a new plan to tackle the city's growing trash problem. Trash has been piling up during the COVID-19 pandemic due to workers calling out sick. Now, the Streets Department hopes to hire 120 temporary workers to help clear the backlog.

    At least two Center City Philadelphia row homes, one appearing to be under construction, were damaged by a fire that brought a large fire department presence to Cypress Street near Fitler Square Thursday morning. NBC10’s Randy Gyllenhaal reports from the scene.

    CBS3 -  response to the pandemic, SEPTA began requiring passengers to wear face coverings last month. But some riders are still not complying.

    As more people return to riding public transportation, masks are mandatory but it’s difficult for SEPTA to enforce it.

    Fox 29Philadelphia officials have postponed indoor dining until at least Sept.1 as cases continue to rise. Indoor dining was previously set to resume on Aug. 1 in the city.

    “For restaurants—you have our sympathy. They are getting hit hard,” Philadelphia Health Commissioner Dr. Thomas Farley said at a Tuesday press briefing.” With case counts rising, I think it’s better for them to not open instead of opening and then having to shut down later.”

    The MLB announced that the remainder of the home-and-home series between the Philadelphia Phillies and the New York Yankees has been postponed out of an abundance of caution. Additionally, the Miami Marlins’ schedule has been postponed through Sunday.

    InquirerPhiladelphia public school students will not return to classrooms until November at the earliest, according to multiple officials with knowledge of the situation, after plans for a hybrid model of in-person and online instruction sparked fierce opposition.
